I can't listen to my Local Files on my Android phone

Each time I try to play a song from my local files, it automatically closes the spotify app and stops playing the song. I tried uninstalling all songs and installing them back again but it didn't work. I also tried to deactivate the feature of being able to listen to local files and activate it back and it still isn't working. What should I do?

Just to confirm, are you able to play the files from the Local files folder in Your Library? If it's empty or the files appear greyed out in your playlists, make sure you've also allowed Spotify to access your Files and media. You can do this in your Android settings > Apps > Spotify > Permissions.

In case you've already allowed this permission, I'd recommend reuploading the files on your phone's storage by following the steps in this article.

ℹ️ Note:

It used to be possible to sync local files across devices on the same network by downloading the playlist directly. This is now a legacy feature which may no longer work as intended, so it's highly recommended you use the method described in the article above to ensure proper functionality.

If you were using the legacy method up until now, you may need add the new local files to your playlists again and remove the old ones.
