Solved!

I have an old phone with android 2.3.6 and spotify 1.2.0

I have an old phone with android 2.3.6 and spotify 1.2.0. If I try to login it just says spotify premium is required. However, I have premium. Or rather I have premium for my entire family, but it doesn't see that? What could be the issue?

Thanks!

Hey again @rokuko,

Even if you manage to install the app, we just can't guarantee it would function correctly on any devices running Android 5 or prior 🙂
Kudos for still holding on to such a device though! Must be interesting to have one around.

We're here for you should any further questions come to mind!

Don't know how much research you've been doing, but at least in germany there is something going wrong with people getting kicked out of Premium for unknown reasons at the moment. As for now all we can do is to hope that Spotify gets a fix real soon

hm, I am in Germany. However, I can use that account on other devices just fine.

Hey @rokuko,

Thanks for reaching out! 🙂

Spotify is currently supported on Android 5 and above.
I have a feeling that the error you're experiencing is due to the fact that your OS version hasn't been supported for a long time and your Spotify app version is out of date.
Tip: You can find out more about the devices Spotify is supported on here.

Hope this helps!

So in short there is no way to use Spotify on such an old Android phone?
