Loading podcasts very slow

My Question or Issue

Loading or browsing through my podcasts takes forever. It doesn't matter whether I am on wi-fi or on 4G; it will take at least one minute to be able to see my podcasts. (The loading-thing keeps on circling around). I regularly empty my caches and delete previously downloaded podcasts, but it doesn't help. What to do?

TRY THIS: Go to “Your Episodes”.

Click on the three dot icon at the far right of one of your podcast episodes (it may take a moment to pop up the next screen if you have thousands of podcast episodes on this list)

When the next screen pops up, click “remove from playlist”
Do that for every single episode in the “Your Episodes” playlist. It will take a long time if you have thousands of episodes. I did not find a way to mass remove episodes.

I had 3500 episodes in that list — once I got down under 1000, Spotify started performing quickly like it is supposed to. I now have 0 episodes in my list and Spotify works perfectly fine.

The “Your Episodes” playlist is slowing down performance I believe. It’s a very stupid feature.
