Lock screen on Google Pixel

On my Google Pixel, I'd like to have to controls shown on the lock screen, but not the wallpaper. Is it possible to do that? 

If on Settings -> Notifications I disable the notifications for Spotify I can't see either of them, and if I enable it I see both.

Can you let us know the Spotify version you're rocking? It'd be also a great help if you could send us a screenshot of how it appears on your device. We'll take a look.

I'm having the same issue - I can either get play/pause etc controls on my lock screen but the album art overrides my lock screen wallpaper, or I have no controls and no art, and also no controls in the notification shade. I would like the ability to turn off album art on the lock screen but keep the controls, not the current all-or-nothing.
