Lock screen widget and controls not working on Huawei Ascend Mate 7

After the device has been locked the widget does not skip forward/backwards. Also pressing "Pause" stops the playback and it is no longer possible to start it again without unlocking the device.

Any ideas how to get this solved?

I tried the "Es Explorer" solution but didn't work out for me, I found another solution I downloaded the "Echo Lockscreen" app it substitutes the lock screen of the phone and it is compatible with the controls of spotify

Also i tried with Explorer, but did not work. Where did you download Echo Lockscreen??

Having the same problem with Huawei Mate 8. And I cannot set Spotify as default music player because it's not on the list. Has anyone come up with a solution? I don't want to change my lock screen. If this is Huawei and EMUI problem I have to wait. I can understand that. But is there a possibility that this could be a Spotify bug?

Thank you for this solution. Anyway it works only with naked phone, not when using a smart windowed cover 😕 I think this is a Huawei EMUI issue
