Mark podcasts as played

I'm new to android after having been stuck with the iPhone's terrible podcast player. So I download Spotify, subscribe to my favorite podcast, and have a list of over 200 podcasts (all of which I've heard). If I click on each one, my choices are Download, Add to Up Next, and Share. So how do I mark it as Played?

I can filter the list to show only unplayed episodes, but that doesn't change anything because there's no way to mark an episode as played. Do I have to play an episode in order to mark is as played? That's going to be a little unweildy, and might make me prefer the awful iphone podcast player! (OK, not really, but still...)

100% agree! This seems like a very basic item for ANY podcast player!

The workaround that I discovered for now (and this is really dumb) is to play a podcast but scrub the play timeline right to the last few seconds. Once it finishes playing the last few seconds, that episode will get marked as played.

Agree that this is sub-optimal and does not scale at all.
