My Question or Issue
The media controls currently display the album art of the previously played song in the queue. When a new queue is started like when playing a new album, the media controls don't display any album art until the next song in the queue starts playing.
Moving back and forth through the queue makes the album art switch to that of the song that was previously playing. This happens to the media controls on the notification tray and the lock screen.
Hi there @kabnpy,
Sorry to hear that you're having such an experience with the app.
We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. Please follow the steps from this Spotify Guide exactly, as this will ensure that all app data is cleared completely, before reinstalling.
Also, make sure that Battery optimization is not enabled for Spotify from the system app settings, as well as that the app is granted all permissions. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app.
Keep us posted on how you get on with this.
Cheers.
Hi,
I've followed the instructions in the guide but nothing changed, still thanks for the suggestion.
Hey @kabnpy,
Thanks for your reply.
Just to confirm, does this happen when you're listening through an external device or when you're streaming directly on your phone as well?
On another note, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone and check if they can replicate this behavior with their own account?
Lastly, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hi,
It happens when streaming directly on my phone and it also happened when I signed in with another account. I don't remember when it started, I never took note of it because I thought it would be quickly fixed with an update.
Hi @kabnpy,
Thanks for your prompt reply and the info provided.
Just to confirm, does this only happen on the notification tray and the lock screen? Or does it also happen on the app itself? On another note, could you check if this happens when using a different internet connection? If you're using mobile data, try connecting to a Wi-Fi network or vice versa.
Lastly, check if there are any available updates for the OS, and send over the Spotify version you're running.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Hi,
This only happens on the lock screen and notification tray. It doesn't seem to be affected by the internet connection I'm using and the version of Spotify I have installed is 8.8.24.652
Hey there @kabnpy,
Thanks for your reply.
It looks like you aren't running the latest version of the app. In this case, would you mind performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the exact steps @Alex sent previously?
Additionally, we suggest that you check if the OS of your phone has any pending updates.
Let us know how it goes.
