My Question or Issue
The app icon was changed today to a hideous discoball inconsistent with everything else on the screen. I see Spotify still uses the clear 2-tone logo for literally EVERYTHING else. Is there a way I can get that on my home screen? Or do I seriously need a third party icon app to workaround Spotify's user unfriendliness?

Hiya, I can see there is a lot of buzz about your new icon (the light green outline makes it look like it’s updating when zoomed out.) So, why instead of it, don’t you put the disco ball instead of the dot on the actual player (dot which shows how far ahead you’re in a song) with maybe some glittery lights around it. It will be MEGA cool and fun, and have a much bigger impact on the experience, since people look at it more.
Yes please

I had to google if was possible to change the logo back because this is horrible. Undo it ASAP
Bro!! That celebration icon hurts in the eyes, it’s like a kick to the growing every single time. I kinda feel like deleting the app but I remembered it costs a ridiculous amount of money every month….can you please make the icon optional? Specially if you pay for it every month?!!
Although the logo is inconsistent it is not hideous. It’s much better than the minimalist slop that most companies are pushing out nowadays. We should congratulate Spotify not only for their 20 year achievement, but for bringing back character and style.
And plus it’s pretty obvious that it’s only for a limited time, Spotify should let people choose whether they wanna keep it long or remove it for their own devices.
This really needs to be more of an option rather than forced, honestly debating to just remove Spotify all together, banking apps like revolut give a choice of icon skins to fit your style, honestly makes me want to vom each time I unlock my iPhone
You are not missing out. I thought the app was broken.
When you look closely at new icon, it looks kinda cool. But for some reason it hurts my eyes every time I unlock my phone. It looks like broken thing. It would be really interesting to dig deeper why it is so. I thought thats only me, but when I started to google how to change the icon learned that quite a lot of people dislike the new icon.
The disco ball is awesome can everyone stop complaining. This is why we can't have nice things guys.
When are you being the old app logo? That was your signature icon. The new one is dark and weird. Bad move!
Must've been an ios thing only because if it wasn't for the internet, I would never know this existed
I would appreciate a World Cup playlist able to be seen by on my IOS devices ready for Three Lions but the logo is not good at all.
please in settings like other apps offer a list of icons.
Spotify claimed the disco ball logo was part of a anniversary event and that it would revert back to the original logo this week. After 2 hours with Spotify tech support and multiple attempts to change it, the disco ball logo survives. Tech support repeats that this is “temporary,” but they have no dates for when the change back will happen. If this were truly a planned event, wouldn’t there been a planned end date? Please let me change this logo back, and give your tech support people more information.
