I have the same problem. Android 13 Reno lite 5, all apps updates in the last year have been the same also with android 12 and other phones. It's not the phone, it's not the app version, it's on Spotify's side. Only when I install an old APK it gets better but I loose all the benefits of the new version. Its so slow it's impossible to use. Please Spotify bring a real solution... Not saying try to clean the cache or reinstall the app. That doesn't solve it!!!
When I open my app, Android, now it is saying App is in Offline mode despite I have 10 mbps internet connection at home.
In 10 seconds it goes online. At every app opening after long idle.
It feels like this is as well the case when loading main page info like cover images and profile pictures.
These are for few seconds blank. App performance went down so much lately. Please fix!!!
I even changed micro sd card for V30, but seller said they will not change it all year long, but it seemed like at first these fixed it.
Now it is as slow as before, even in inline storage.
And I don't know if it's the Spotifiers tweaking the code or other factors ( Pixel phone software, network changes , etc, etc) But it's working good again. Especially the connect to device feature as my typical use case is play from phone, listen on Buds but monitor and view current playing content and Que on a desktop (Win 11) . Not complaining. But we'll see how it goes with the fullness of time.
Desktop/mobile app performance improved a lot, but not to the fastest way possible. Still some delay sometimes.
Got new update to laptop and i can't believe it. It adds tracks to the lists 4 times faster compared to first situation.
Before it would take to download, update counter and playlist time like 40 seconds, now it takes it in less than 10 seconds. I do understand it might be related to 10 Mbps free Wifi in my rent apartment, but it worked faster before.
Thank you for listening your customers and making app almost as fast as it was.
Found the reason.
Now it is again slow, but it's only slow after time. Usually reboot or closure of app helps.
It starts to slow down when the resources taken almost 1 GB or more. Most resources counted 2 GB for Spotify.
At start it consumes only 0.5 GB or less, so it's something with memory hoarding.
When memory is normal, it updates lists, counters and content in a matter of seconds. When memory hog, it takes ages.
Anyone at Spotify reading? Maybe a fix?
Or is it because Chrome steals it too, and 8 GB of RAM is just not enough ??? I paid €599 for this laptop new.

My Question or Issue: I can’t add new playlists created by others to my Library, nor I can create new playlists myself. I made a Complete Reinstallation and the problem continues. I have 10,941 playlists in my Library.
I have to reset Spotify on my Pixel 6 Pro every hour or so. Seems like a memory leak. Sometimes I have to force stop Spotify as it would keep playing music when I swipe the app up to close it.
