I have installed spotify on my phone and used it the first few days with the 48h trial premium.

However since it has ended I cannot listen to any song (even when connected online), which should still be possible with the free version right?

I always get the same message:"the track is not available"

No, the Premium subscription is what allows you to listen to Spotify's catalogue of music on your mobile/tablet.
