Notifications

I have reinstalled my spotify. Taking away all the chosen notifications on my account, saved it and then changed it back to the way I had it. But I am still not getting any notifications. I dont see the point of following all these artists if i still have to search for their new music you know? Does anyon out there have any idea why? And if it will ever be back to where it used to be because i'm gtting really frustrated. it just like having iTunes all over again.. please help me.
