Playlist re-shuffle on resume

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I tried to search for the issue but couldn’t find anything about it. I have been using Spotify (Premium) for over 5 months now. I have only used it on Android (Note 5/7 and now S7 Edge). The problem I am having is that it seems that every time I resume play (listen in the car on my way to work then resume on my way home) it seems to reshuffle the playlist.

Say I’m listening to the Top 100 playlist. I may listen to say 5 songs on my drive to work. The issue I am having is that on the way home I may hear a few of the 5 songs I heard on my way in before I ever make it thought the 100 songs. I like listening to the Release Radar and Discover Weekly but it gets annoying that I never get to listen to all the song before I start getting repeats. This gets really annoying when I'm taking multiple short trips.

Is there a way to stop this?

The queue resets when you quit Spotify so the solution would be to pause the music but not close spotify. That way you should resume where you left off but you may want to keep a charger handy.

I never really close the app. It starts when I get in my car automatically. I imagine that throughout the day the phone might close it automatically.

What I dont understand is that this app bascially works in entirely in the cloud (I dont listen offline). It remembers what song and at what part in that song that I left off when I get in the car and continues from there. So why cant it remember where I left off in the playlist?

It's the way they have implemented shuffle. What actually happens is that songs are added randomly to the play queue. Close spotify and the queue is cleared and when you resume playing, it is populated anew from the entire playlist.

It seems to me that disabling shuffle may be the way to go.

I just found how to turn shuffle off, ill try it out and report back.

It seems that even turning off shuffle doesnt really help. Its better, but still repeats songs before the playing all songs in the playlist. Is there a feature request form for Spotify?
