My Question or Issue
I listen to my saved playlists with smart shuffle on.
When listening to saved playlist then switching to another Bluetooth device or the phone speaker, the same line up of songs I have just listened to start playing in the reverse order.
How do I stop that so I can continue listening to songs I haven't just been listening to.
Phone: Oneplus 13, Android 15 OxygenOS 15.0.0.840 (EX01)
Spotify version: 9.0.68.632
I've been experiencing this same issue for years, through multiple phones (Samsung Galaxy S8, S20, S3+), devices (Windows 10 & 11 desktops, Sonos), and multiple cars with Android Auto. I know several other people that have the same problem. Clearing the cache/reinstalling obviously does not fix it. It is not hardware specific. There is some kind of inadvertent reverse ordering happening in your code flow when playback transfers to a new device.
Effectively if you start playing a playlist, regardless of shuffle, smart shuffle, or no shuffle, and then you switch playback to a different device, Spotify will finish the currently playing song, then reverse the queue order and start playing the songs you had just listened to in reverse order, rather than proceeding through the original queue you had started. It is maddening.
Additionally, you can't fix it unless you start playing a different playlist altogether, then come back and try to start your original playlist again (and even that doesn't always work).
This needs to be fixed. It is driving me mad. Cant listen to my playlists in Android Auto in the order theyre in as as soon as i play one song, it goes into smart suggestions instead.
Same issue here!
playing song list by android auto with reverse order, however played the same song list by apple carplay the sequence is forward order.

Whenever I disconnect from a Bluetooth device (usually my car, but happens with all devices) and reconnecting a while later the playlist I was listening to reverses order and I get the same songs playing again in backwards order from when I listened to them earlier. This happens until I open the app and select a different song in the playlist, selecting the same song in listening to does not fix the issue.
