Hey @nick_2k,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community and apologies for the delayed response.
Great troubleshooting so far! Appreciate your efforts, however, we'd like to give you some insights about this.
We’re did some tests and the feature had some trouble on the older version of the app. We've tried reproducing this now and this is working as it's supposed to.
We'd recommend that you update your Spotify app to the latest version and to keep it always updated, so you don't miss out on any fixes.
We're always testing possible improvements and new features, so you might see something on the app your friend doesn’t, or get a brand-new feature for only a temporary period. The purpose of these tests is exactly to help us improve user's experience.
In case you're still having issues, don't hesitate to give us a shout - we'll be happy to help out further 🙂
I have this same thing happening on the web version of spotify, I have a playlist with 270 songs and after a certain number of songs added to the playlist (I forgot how many, maybe 150), the "song already added" pop up disappeared and now its hard to keep track because I don't remember all of the 270 songs that are already in the playlist.
Hey there @Jerome202,
Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community!
Just to confirm, is this only happening on the web player or on the desktop/mobile apps as well? Additionally, does this happen on every playlist or only on a specific one?
If this only happens on the web player, could you give a different browser a go to see if the same happens?
Let us know how it goes.
Hi, I only use the web browser so I'm not sure about the app or mobile version. And it's weird because I have 5 playlists with 200 or more songs and two of them doesn't get the "song already added" pop up whereas the other three get it.
Hey again @Jerome202,
Thanks for your reply and this info.
As you mention that you're using mainly the web player, it's not impossible that the browser's cache has started to cause some sort of interference with the normal work of the player's web page. Have you actually tried the suggestion of @Eni above, as to see if this behavior is present in another browser as well?
You can also try clearing the cache and using and incognito window of your preferred browser, to see if the behavior changes.
Let us know how things work out, we'll be keeping an eye out for your reply.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
