Random stops/crashes - Moto Photon q 4g lte XT897 Sprint

Anytime I pause, try to skip a song, or change playlists spotify stops. It doesn't always Crash entirely. 

If I set it to a playlist and leave it alone (not unlocking phone at all) it will play without issue. 

It does this in 4g/3g/wifi/offlinemode/airplaneOfflinemode.  

I have uninstalled 4+ times. 

I emailed support back and forth on this for a two week span--gave them a detailed log file. No dice.

Eventually gave up and found an old version of spotify that works just fine. 

I really do miss the Radio option--but its impossible to work with the constant crashes. 

Does anyone have any ideas? 

Is there someone out there who has this phone that works with the newest update?

I am having the same exact problem.  It says I have no connection and then greys everything out.  Then I have to back out of the playlist and go back into it.  It doesn't happen if I don't try to change the song.  Only happens if I try to select a song from the playlist.
