Randomly switching to playlist overview during playblack

Recently I've been noticing that when I'm listening to a playlist, the Now Playing/playback screen will randomly just switch back to the Playlist Overview, as if I hit the X in the upper left corner. This just started happening in the last week or two - probably since the last update (I'm on version 1.0.0.82). The majority of my listening is done in the car with the phone docked to the dash and no screen time out. I've been listening this way for a while and this issue only started happening recently, so I don't think it's anything on my end. My device is a Verizon LG G2 running the latest 4.4.2 update.
