Removed the ability to shuffle play all playlist in a folder?

Solved!

Removed the ability to shuffle play all playlist in a folder?

In the new update for the Android app, it seems they removed the option to play all playlist in a folder, is that true? I used it all the time because I follow a lot of playlist and to be able to listen to them all in shuffle mode where fantastic... 😞 So is it really true or am I missing something?

There are two versions of the APK. 1) Make sure you use the correct version for your device 2) You may need to uninstall the existing version before trying to install the earlier one. It took me a couple of attempts before I figured it out

I use it everyday too!   Bring it back please.

I use this feature every day - if it's not reintroduced in the next month, I'm probably going to cancel my premium subscription and use a different service.

Thank you very much archiede. That did save my day ☺️Uninstalling worked. Now I just hope Spotify won't bring any breaking changes as this version is no longer inline with their normal release flow. But for now it works sweetly 😆

I too want this function back. It just disappeared recently and is a HUGE step backward. Not happy about this.

This function has worked on the Android app until the beginning of March.  Why would you change an app to have less functionality, in particular on a feature that is standard for music players?  The removal of shuffle playlists should be remedied quickly.  I pay money for a premium product, not for a product that makes me look at other options.

Hi Martin,

this feature was available until last update, so it was still working early this month.

Your workarounds do not really help.

The first one will duplicate your amount of storage needed in the Android device.

The second one is not very useful if you are taking your music around (which is actually the point of having a premium account) and your desktop is somewhere else.

Thanks for passing it to the staff!

Best regards

I guess this is because Spotify wants to force it's users more and more to (currated) playlists, since this is where the big labels are willing to pay big money for.

It has become clear to me that Spotify is a company that is focussed more on the casual mainstream listener than on the music lover who has a big library (probably because this user "pays" more in the end). First there was the move to the "My music" which limits the library (and) playlists to 10K songs, and now this... It's a shame that even as stupid as Spotify is becoming, the competition is even worse in most cases (i.e. 1000 song playlist limit for Google Play).

This feature was a HUGE part of the experience for me and there is just no logically reason why this should have been removed. And as always there is no communication from Spotify's side.

Won't continue my subscription without this feature.

I am already looking forward to the update that removes playlists entirely.

Playlist folders are how my entire library is structured. Why is this feature removed? And why is it only removed in Android?

Do you pay your developers for removing the features instead of adding them? Because that's what you've been doing for last few years. Too bad that I've only recently renewed my spotify subscription.

I too have emailed android support to report being unable to play a whole playlist folder. This used to be a great feature and it's so sad that they've taken it away. Very sad indeed. This morning I've emailed with screen shots to explain the problem as support didn't seem to understand.
Please add the feature back again. Please.
Alan

I agree. This feature was a integral part of my listening experience. It is very concerning when features are taken away from paid customers. It would be one thing if it was a rare occurrence, but it seems to happen all the times. Notifcations, messages, lyrics, the list goes on. This is the first one though that directly impacts my listening experience 😞

What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?

Same problem. I just couldn't believe they removed such a useful feature. Please Spotify, bring it back. If they don't bring it back I'll consider unsubscribing from Premium.

Adding my voice to this, will also be switching services if this functionality isn't restored.

This is so infuriating! WHY would you even remove this functionality???

Same here, i used this feature everyday in the car, now spotify is quite useless to me in this case. I'm really thinking about unsubscribing.

Hey,

"Solved"...

What do you mean by "solved"? No update, and the button is still missing.
