No error message, but the seach does only come up with saved/downloaded songs. I guess that's a setup thing but can't find the solution.

Can you try a clean reinstall following these steps? Let me know if that helps 🙂
Also, can you check if the "offline mode" is disabled in your settings? If not, that might be causing the problem. Also, does that happens with both mobile connection and Wi-Fi?
