Hey. This is a very annoying UI issue that hides and completely changes the locations of track options such as Shuffle, Repeat, Like (heart) depending solely on whether you are playing the track from a Playlist or whether it is part of an Album.
Specifically this refers to when you click on the "Now Playing" track at the bottom of the app. If it is playing from a direct album, you will see Shuffle on the left of the control menu, Repeat on the right, and Like above Repeat. This is an acceptable and functional format.
If you are playing a track from a Playlist however, Shuffle and Repeat disappear. "Like" replaces where Shuffle would be on the left of player control menu and "Hide track" replaces where Repeat would be on the right. There are no Shuffle or Repeat control options on Playlist tracks.
So you can't actually disable it from a playlist track, or ANYWHERE in the app, until you begin playing a track directly from an album page. That is the only way to have a "Shuffle" control become visible again in order to disable shuffle.
Why this UI design is a thing - who knows. Thanks Spotify! Hopefully if anybody ever comes across this same issue, they'll find this post and save themselves 20 minutes of figuring out how to fix. And hopefully somebody at Spotify actually sees it and fixes this as well.
