Shuffle is now a premium feature??

My Question or Issue

On my phone (Xperia L2) i play my playlist in shuffle order, not because i want to because i have to! Whenever I play a playlist or song it is locked on shuffle and does not allow me to turn it off because it is "a premium feature" but when i go on my ipad or mac. It allows me to play music freely, can someone please help me with my situation?

We can confirm that this is an expected behavior. The free experience on mobile doesn't include on demand listening, but this is something you can do if you're on a tablet or using the desktop app.

That's a bit strange becuas emy friend with an iphoen can is It just an " android won't get that feature of smth?" could it maybe be older devices don't get that bc I think my cousin with an android can disable it too

Are your friends on Premium? Because if you are on Premium you can just play playlist tracks in any order, by clicking on each. That's called on demand playing (because you can play what you "demand" whereas if you are on Free, it starts playing tracks in shuffled order).

I use the free version of Spotify on my Android phone and my Android tablet. I've put together a playlist which for some reason doesn't work properly on my phone. When you open the playlist on the tablet, a list of songs appears where you can choose which song you want to listen to in full.

When I open the same list on my phone, the view is different. The play button allows you to listen to the playlist but below the play button there is a text "Self-added" that opens the list of songs but from there Spotify only plays a 10 second snippet of the songs in the playlist, not the whole song.

How do I fix this so that the phone plays the whole song?

Some more information, in case somebody could solve this problem: phone is Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite with Androus 12 and tablet is Samsung Tab S7 Fe with Android 14. Spotify is free version with latest updates.
