Sign in with Facebook ends in blank screen

My Question or Issue

Issue is simple - when I try to sign in with Facebook, it will open my browser and authenticate successfully, but then it will switch back to the app and simply show me a black screen.  I've tried uninstalling, clearing cache, clearing storage, and removing Spotify as an authorized app on Facebook. Nothing works. 

I cannot switch away from Facebook login to standup username/password, since Spotify is telling me my email is already in use (a whole other issue lol)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This issue is 100% device specific as logging in with Facebook works no problem on my old phone, just not my new pixel.

We've reported this to our tech folks who'll investigate further. In the meantime, you can try logging in to your account using the other login alternatives mentioned in this thread.

If you haven't already, please share the following details, so we can forward them to the right team:

• Your device's make, model and OS version
• The version of Spotify you're running

Don't forget to share with us the Spotify version you have running on your devices. You can check the version by following the steps in this article. Rest assured this is being investigated.

Same problem here. I tried logging out of another phone where I was logged in with my facebook-account.
Cannot log in there either.

It's an issue with either facebook or the spotify app. And I have no idea what to do now expect waiting in hope that it gets resolved by itself.

EDIT: Found the solution. The latest version of the Spotify App is to blame. Deinstalled it, installed an older APK and the login war working. After updating to the latest version via the Play Store it still works 🙂

Correct - once you've attached yourself to FB, you CANNOT unhitch yourself.  It's absolutely stupid and I'm sitting here unable to access what I'm paying for through no fault of my own.  This is ridiculous.

Pixel 7 Pro Solve is as follows:

1)  Via Chrome on my phone (not on iPad or laptop) -- view settings and find your associated email.  Note:  mine was NOT the one associated with FB, which is why I couldn't get this to work earlier.  For whatever reason, mine was an old / dead yahoo account I only use for Fantasy Football.  (Don't ask.)  

2)  Write down THAT email, and then log out of Spotify via the Chrome browser you have Spotify up on.  Don't do anything in the app yet. 

3)  Go to the login page through Chrome again and choose "forgot password" and use the email associated with your account as I outlined above. 

4)  Reset your password from the email link and write it down.  You know why.    

5)  NOW YOU OPEN THE APP on your phone and login via email you used above and the new PW you wrote down.  

Voila.  I have access to all my old playlists and all that good stuff now.  No loss of data.  Thank God.

I made a new account and when I try to connect to facebook nothing happens.

I have disconnected facebook from the old account first.

If I try to login via facebook I get into the old acount again.

Are there any solutions to this problem?

Thank you for your patience and all the info you've sent so far.

The right teams have made some changes backstage, so this should now be fixed - just make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify. Could you confirm if the issue is fixed for you?
