So is the Android app really that bad?

So is the Android app really that bad?

I pay for Slacker Radio Premium and their Android app is a bit buggy as well and their licensing is tad lacking.  I was looking into switching to Spotify until I read this forum.  Is there that many problems with Android?  I usually listen to my music in the car so I would be listening to the app maybe 80% of the time.  Thanks in advance.

I often take 8-12 hour weekend whitewater trips as I live in a flat area, so spotify is helpful going through mountainous area's that do not have great radio service,  and the radio plays garbage anyway.

If you take 1hr +  trips I would say the app would be worth it.  The only two problems I have with the mobile app is that it does not include spotify apps like Soundrop and its bluetooth occasionally breaks and plays without transmitting any audio.  This could be a device specific problem for me, but it eventually led to me cancelling my sub for quite awhile.

Spotify worked well with my Samsung note 2, but the sound quality was awful. I think this ay be an issue with the phone rather than a problem with spotify.

I have had problems with stuttering play since an update a few months ago. (I remember when software updates used to bring new features and bugfixes, nowadays they just bring more problems). If it was a bandwidth problem it would buffer at least 10 seconds of play. On my phone I get no more than a second, cut out, another second, cut out. It is unlistenable. I reckon it must be a processor time issue or some other bottleneck. Maybe it only works on multi core processors now. Admittedly, mine is an old phone (HTC Desire Z with latest possible OS Gingerbread) but I like it and other music and video apps (eg. Netflix) run fine. No excuse!

I was a massive fan of Spotify. I'm afraid the shine has gone. Time to say goodbye. Not being able to save offline playlists to an SD card, That's retarded! It taking 2 or 3 minutes sometimes open up with my albums/playlists. WTAF!!!! You we start to lose all those hard earned customers if you don't get a grip.
