Song starts normal and then volume quickly decreases

Running Spotify on my pixel 2. When I play music, the song starts at normal volume for about a half of a second and then noticeably decreases in volume. I thought it was an issue with my phone until I noticed no other music apps have the problem. Also, I'm noticing others have had this issue months ago. Is there no hope for an update with a fix?

Are you listening via Bluetooth in your car? Same thing was happening to me, but only in that situation. I disabled the equalizer and the problem went away.

Thanks for your tip. I thought I had tried everything, but apparently not the equalizer. Will give it a try. Thanks!
