Hey there @NadavNa

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a regular one?

If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind trying again with a different SD card to check if the issue persists?

If so, could you send us a screenshot of the storage options you're seeing in the app settings? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hello Nadav

The default storage for Spotify downloads is the device storage, which is why you cannot share that music. It is meant to be used only on that device. It's one of the measures aimed at preventing unlawful distribution of music. It protects artists and makes sure they get paid accordingly.

I hope you're answered,thank you ❤️

Already did all that

This is a bug

It used to be OK

Till recently

Like Netflix

Spotify enables to download the offline music to the SD card instead of the device storage

Of course it can't be shared

But this is a bug

It used to be OK

Till recently

And unfortunately spotify doesn't have a sution

Hi
Thanks for your reply
Already done all that
There is a bug
Many users complained about that
Unfortunately Spotify doesn't fix that bug
And I can't boot or shut down my phone
Because once I reboot
I have to re-download
and 50 GB downloads take ages
It's pretty annoying
Netflix downloads are OK
Nadav

I'm sorry to hear that Nadav,I think @Eni might be better suited to deal with it as a mod or I could try and take it higher.

Hey @NadavNa,

Thanks for the reply.

In case you haven't already, we'd recommend trying the following:

  • Enable permission for storage option for Spotify. This can be accessed by going to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Permissions > Storage.
  • Check that the Spotify app is set as an exception for any cache clearing apps.

We'd also suggest taking a look at this Spotify Answer.

You can also try the workaround suggested by @Tink3rb3ll in this thread

Keep us posted on how you get on.

Hi Nadev. I would highly recommend switching to Amazon Music instead. They don't have any of these issues with offline music. Plus you get lossless music and Dolby Atmos as well. Looks like Spotify just doesn't care and has no interest in fixing their bugs considering I had this same issue a year ago with them. Don't pay for features that don't work!

Every time after my phone reboots, all my downloaded music on my SD card gets wiped and Spotify starts downloading again on my device storage. It's extremely frustrating. You guys have had more than enough complaints and still nothing has been done to solve this!!!

I have the same issue and no one to fix.

They should be already fixing it. They waste thousands of their money at Spotify when people redownload GB after GB of content after each reboot. It costs them and customers money. I am thinking of bigger storage phone, but not for now.
