Spotify app on Android radio doesn’t send subwoofer signal?

Hello!

So I’ve downloaded Spotify for my Android 10 powered radio, but when playing the app doesn’t send any signal to the sub out on the radio. It seems to think that the radio is a standard tablet so only sends a standard stereo signal.

If I Bluetooth my phone to the radio and play Spotify through it, the sub signal is sent as expected.

The app does recognize the radio’s EQ, just not the subwoofer channel.

Is there another version of the app out there I can try to download that’s “meant for car radios”? Is there a setting I missed somewhere to tell the app to send the sub signal?

TIA!

Hey there @Marty711!

Thanks for reaching out about this on the Community!

The Android app was designed for mobile devices and with that we're afraid that we cannot guarantee that it will work as expected on non-mobile phone devices.

Take a look here to see all the ways you can connect Spotify in your car.

Hope this helps!
