Spotify automatically lowers volume during GPS speaking

My Question or Issue

When listening to Spotify in the car with Waze navigation turned on, Spotify insists on lowering the volume of the music whenever Waze speaks, which makes it unusably annoying. How to I stop this? The volume of the music should remain constant, and the voice navigation should just speak over it, but I can't find a setting for this.

I think Waze turns down the volume of the "media channel" on your phone. I'd say it's better to ask Waze about this issue first, as Spotify doesn't do this on other navigation apps (like Sygic and Maps).

I had thought about that as well, but I don't see a setting within Waze about this either. Plus, Waze has never done this to me before. Prior to registering with Spotify, I had been using PowerAmp with my own music collection, which I've been doing for maybe 5 years, all while using Waze, and all with no volume issues. That tells me that if there IS a setting within Waze about this, then it's already turned off.

The weird thing is that after posting this thread yesterday, I went out again and was using Spotify again. It didn't have the issue that time, but it's doing it again today. I haven't changed any settings within either Waze or Spotify, aside from connecting the two apps, but I did that as soon as I registered.

My Question or Issue

The volume keeps ducking to very low levels every time there is a direction from Google Maps/Waze. This makes podcasts and music impossible to hear in the middle of the city while driving.
