Some older phones running android 4.x confusingly refer to internal storage as SD storage but, in fact, this is plain old internal storage where all applications and their data are automatically stored. This is where spotify stores its cache.
You will only see the storage option in spotify settings if you have an external SD card installed, which you don't.
