Spotify wants to download already downloaded playlist - there is no space

Spotify wants to download already downloaded playlist - there is no space

I recently had to log in to Spotify on my mobile phone (Android Galaxy S2, OS 4.2). I already have all the songs downloaded on my external SD, but Spotify wants to download them again and finds out there is no space. I have problems with my internal SD; it becomes read only very quickly after a restart and stays that way for some reason. But Spotify has been moved to the external SD and according to settings takes over 6GB in there. Why can't I play my Spotify list now, why does it have to download over 2k songs again? Can you please fix this? If not, I will have to unsubscribe from Premium.

When i had this problem I cleared the data on the spotify app and redownloaded all of my playlists.  I also believe this is cause by changing your download quality while already having downloaded.  (please correct me if im wrong)

No, I haven't changed anything. I don't even know that it's possible to change download quality. I just forgot to connect mobile version to Wi-Fi within a month. That's when it demanded logging in and needing to download the whole list of more than 2k songs. It's just unnecessary to have to download it all over again. And why is it trying to download on my internal SD which is already full of apps? There is no space on it, and for some reason it's read only. The Spotify data is 6GB large and it's on mye external SD. Deleting it won't make a difference, since Spotify is trying to download to my internal SD which is full and Spotify says too that there is no space. My external SD has lots of space.

Have you checked spotify's settings to make sure that the download location is still your external SD card? When spotify reacted to you not logging in for a month, it disconnected your downloads from the app - it didn't delete them. It would be pretty alarming if apps were able to start deleting files on our phones!

So you will need to redownload music you want available offline. First reinstall spotify following these steps.
