Spotify won't connect to the internet over WiFi

For the past few months I've noticed my phone hasn't been able to connect over my wifi connection at home except for times when i also have spotify open on my laptop for some reason.

This has been so annoying as I only ever use spotify on my phone and I can only listen to my cached tracks so many times.

I have a HTC One mini 2 running Android version 4.2.2 HTC sense 6.0

I've cleared the cache, deleted the app and reinstalled. I'm not on offline mode or anything like that and I've turned my phone on and off again..

I'd appriciate some help

Hi. It seems like a problem with your home network. I''m guessing that if you use celular data the phone will connect without problems to spotify, right?

Check your router configuration and disable the firewall to check if that's what is preventing your phone from connecting correctly.

A few reports of this issue which was fixed in the beta... A new update is rolling out soon which I hope contains the fix.
