My Question or Issue

Why do I have to have a song playing before I'm able to connect to a chromecast?

How to reproduce:

Open Spotify App on phone.

Navigate to connected devices and select your Chromecast device.

See popup saying "Start playing some music to connect to a device." (attached screenshot.)

Go to a song you'd like to hear.

Start playing the song.

Navigate to connected devices and select your Chromecast device.

Pause the song and go back to start.

Expected outcome.

Open Spotify App on phone.

Navigate to connected devices and select your Chromecast device.
