Unable to add a song to my playlist when offline

Unable to add a song to my playlist when offline

Most of the time when I try to add a downloaded song to a playlist while offline, it shows "Something went wrong" and doesn't add the song to the playlist. It tries to do it but fails in about 5 seconds.

This used to work fine but started happening in the last few weeks.

Just in case it matters, I'm on Android 14.

Hey @SolveTheRiddle, thanks for asking in the Community!

Can you confirm if this is happening on all devices or only a specific one? Please try on other platforms and share a screen-recording of the error if possible.

You can also try with other playlists and see if this happens on a specific playlist or all of them. Do share your Spotify app version as well.

Let me know how it goes.

After the latest update, I'm only able to add downloaded songs to downloaded playlists (other than Liked songs) while offline.

This was previously supported. Now the playlist that are not downloaded are greyed out when trying to add a new song.

Hey @SolveTheRiddle, I have tried this out on my device and app.

I can confirm the behaviour that when you are offline you can add to offline playlists only.

Spotify is constantly updating features and testing things. It is possible that this is a part of one such change. Sometimes you might notice features that are not available to others.

That's a **bleep**. I used that feature a lot, losing it is a major downgrade.
