I have Spotify premium family membership. As of today the volume keeps shooting up to max constantly by itself on all my familys accounts. It's super annoying any help would be great.
Oh and 2020 wrapped still ain't working.
My daughter is having the same problem with hers when she's using wired headphones - skipping tracks, volume going up and down and assistant recommendations cutting in. She's got a Oneplus Nord 2. Totally reset the phone last night, removed assistant, turned everything off on Spotify and through Google accounts to stop it constantly telling her the time. Still no joy.
Going to try bluetooth headphones to see if that helps. Otherwise we'll switch to Deezer. Not had this problem on any other device.
This is exactly the problem I’m having, and I’m concerned about my amp and speakers. They may be be damaged after the volume suddenly going from 12 to 100 out of 100. I also have a Spotify Family Premium membership, and the device in question is a fully updated iPhone 12 mini. My amp is a Denon, which I use via my Wi-Fi. Because I’m an avid listener and often add songs to playlists, I have the HEOS app and Spotify open at the same time. HEOS is only used to adjust the volume remotely. Just a moment ago, I was playing Spotify through the amp via Bluetooth (with HEOS closed) believing that it had to do with the two apps being used at the same time. The volume instantaneously jumped up to 100 even via Bluetooth, so now I’m worried that 1: Spotify may have damaged some very important equipment and 2: that I can no longer listen to Spotify on this equipment in my favorite setting. Unfortunately, that would make Spotify the app with perhaps the greatest value possibly the most costly and damaging app I’ve ever used. Please fix this Spotify!
Also having issues with Spotify (family premium account) jumping to 100 volume while playing off my phone to a Google nest mini. I play music for my baby to fall asleep and so you can imagine how problematic this is. Please address this issue, Spotify.
Same here, I had the problem today with my Yamaha sound bar.
I was listening on my phone then switched on the sound bar. The sound was ok at first but I tried to increase a little bit the sound via my phone, the sound was instantenously set to max level and I was unable to decrease it.
Spotify you have to do something to avoid this kind of behaviour, this is dangerous for people in the room, the sound is far too high.
Same here! Very similar case as Scandinative. I am using a 5.1 system with a denon AVR receiver … so as you should imagine, is extremely aggravating (to put it very very very mildly) when Spotify instantly bumps the volume from 20% to 100% just because I switched from whatever random app to the Spotify app. And then it’s not like the app is very responsive so it takes another 5 seconds to lower the volume again! Like wth, are you trying to get us evicted? Talked to some Spotify agent through a live chat only to be told to reset my devices. Really? I know a bug when I see one.
I’ve been having this issue too, when it connects to my car it is automatically set to turn up the volume, but it’s been controlling my volume on my iPhone and turning it up to max even when it’s not connected recently! Not ideal when walking into the office, phone in hand and accidentally blaring music full volume 😞 I’ve had a play around with the settings and figured out if you go to settings, devices and then turn off devices Lock Screen it stops it! I’ve turned it back on since and it hasn’t happened again yet so hopefully this fixes it 🤞 not sure if it’ll work for anyone else but thought I’d share as I came to this page looking for an answer before having a play with the setting and didn’t find anything 🙂
Issue still persists til this day
I've been having the same issue for the past few months, nothing helped. I'm super anxious now listening to music on Spotify via my blueetooth headphones - every time the song's about to change I have to put my finger on the volume button in order to immediately press it in case the music goes to max. volume. It's like russian roulette, I have barely any pleasure listening to music when I'm out in public and seeing that this issue hasn't been solved FOR YEARS really makes me wanna change my streaming platform.
Hello,
I May have found a Solution
I have a poco f2 pro too and I had the same problem.
Now, lets skip all my attempts to fix the problem, but now maybe its seems to be working, at least, I'm without that bug since a week, and this never happened before.
I have deactivated the equalizer.
I have already deactivated it before but I still got the problem, now I tryed to deactivated it on my pc, then on my phone, Clear all and im fine right now.
Just log in your pc if you logged out, and try.
I'll write if it back, but looks good right now.
Hello! On my Poco F2 Pro worked with the deactivation of the equaliser.
I don't have that big jump of volume when the music switches to another.
Thanks for the tip!
Same issue here, miui Global 14.0.3, Mi 11T pro. the only way I found to work properly was using bluetooth heatsets, with wired or even on the device speaker, I had the same issue randomly
Same for me on my poco x3 pro, it affects both wired and wireless. It's very annoying specifically when you use it for sleeping or commuting.
This is still a big problem if anyone at spotify cares. Just wait for your ear damage lawsuits
Same issue here using Spotify connect from PC to Sony Receiver. Had music playing for our puppy downstairs and suddenly heard it blaring. I ran back downstairs for the remote and as I went to turn the volume down on the receiver, the PC app kept turning it back up to full, leaving me to power the amp off in a panic. Can't quite believe this issue has been going on for 9 years.......
hi guys to everyone who have this problem, I think I know what causes it.
before, my spotify works perfectly until I turned on the equalizer that's when the volume shoots up to max whenever there's a change of track.
I turned it off and now it works perfectly .
Imagine not fixing a small bug for their PREMIUM USERS since 3 damn years after this community post got made (ps. The original issue started in 2014)
Thanks
Vers same issue here. Still no solution.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION & PROBLEM REASON
I had the same issue with my friend on Redmi Note 10 Pro, the volume increased almost to max in between songs. But apparently it only begun after the update to MIUI 13 or maybe even perhaps to ANDROID 12. My friend has found a solution by turning off DOLBY ATMOS on your phone and the automatic incresing volume issue in between the tracks was just gone afterwards. Since it worked, so I am just sharing this solution from personal experience. I hope it works and fixes the issue for you.
I have the same problem, tried solutions that users provided but still have sound jumps btw tracks. Does Spotify crew even care about this bug? Or should I cancel my premium account?
