What happens if I delete/unfollow an offline playlist before I select "Undownload"?

Do the songs remain downloaded on my phone and occupy storage, or do the songs included in the deleted offline playlist get automatically undownloaded?

I think I have deleted / unfollowed some offline playlists before selecting "Undownload" on my device.

Unfollowing a playlist you have made available offline should also remove the relevant tracks from the spotify cache.
