When I close spotify and reopen, play stops after the current song?

I play from a long playlist on my phone which repeats on a loop. When I start the app, spotify plays the current song then pauses. When I try to force play, it returns to the start of the playlist. This has happened since last week.

Having a similar problem- I press play, it plays through one song, then stops. The pause button shows that a song is playing, but nothing is. I try to press the pause button and  it registers but doesn’t do anything. Happened a couple days ago, deleting and reinstalling didn’t do anything. App is completely broken as of now

I have de same problem. On reopen the Spotify, the app plays the current song and stops after the song ends. On check the reproduction list, it had only the current song, when on the play screen the Spotify shows the name of reproduction list.

similar issue. If paused for a while it will refuse to play the next song in the cue. Only fix is to start playing a different album or playlist and then go back to the original one. So I loose the spot it was playing at. Really frustrating.

This seems related to a problem I am having with Android Auto mentioned on this thread.
