Why are my most listened songs of the last 12 months a copy of last year

Why are my most listened songs of the last 12 months a copy of last year

Few days ago when I was looking at my stats I noticed the my top songs for the last year have suddenly became a copy of my last years wrapped results. I haven't listened to these songs in more than a year and a half. They just suddenly appeared out of nowhere despite me not listening to them and the songs I have been listening for the last year and a half are gone. Last 6 months is fine, so is every other category but my top songs for the last 12 months are acting up. I do not want this to affect my wrapped results.

Hi there,

Thanks for your post here in the Community and welcome!

First up, we'd like to make sure we know what's the playlist you're referring to. Could you let us know the exact name and send over a screenshot of that playlist? We'll go ahead and check that.

On another note, no worries, this year's wrapped isn't live yet, and when it is, it shouldn't contain info from previous years.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

It's not a playlist, I was looking at my stats on spotify stats and noticed a bunch of songs from last years wrapped which I haven't listened to in over a year just appeared on my top songs for the last 12 months section. When I checked stats fm it showed the same thing. I added a photo of it. The blue dots are the ones from last year that just appeared put of nowhere despite me not listening to them anymore and the red arrows are what was at the top before the blue dot songs appeared.

If it helps at all, mine is the same way right now and basically my Top songs for the year are my exact top songs from last years wrapped.

So I am hoping that it just hasn't fully adjusted to show the results.

I've been working off my 6 month to try to get a slightly better view of what to expect lol

This seems to be happening to me too, the list is in a different order but it's pretty much all the same songs and includes an artist who was exposed for some bad things and I really don't want them in my wrapped. I know what I listen to and these songs do not look right.

i know it’s been a year, but mines doing the same thing right now. i’m hoping it changes before wrapped comes out 😞

It is some kind of bug where it shows not the top songs of the last 12 months but instead of all time. Before the top songs of the last 12 months option was there it was top songs of all time. The label was at some point changed due to Spotify changing how they process data but for some reason it seems to still track like top songs of all time. The spotify wrapped isn't affected by it so anyone worried that their Spotify wrapped is going to be wrong due to what it shows at the top songs of the last 12 months section doesn't need to be worried. Every year I look at Spotify stats to check if it is fixed but it isn't.

Fyi tho Stats for Spotify or any other Spotify stats website is not part of Spotify but instead a third-party website that you at some point gave permission to to use your Spotify account information. Basically the staff from this forum will not be able to help because they have nothing to do with Stats for Spotify. This is also the reason why it doesn't affect Spotify Wrapped since Spotify Wrapped is directly from Spotify while Stats for Spotify is just a third party website.
