Why does clicking on a song change my repeat/shuffle settings?

My Question or Issue

Before I start, I know that the "solution" to this is to go and reenable those settings. My question is why was this implemented? It's counter-intuitive and a bug feature I have never seen on any other player. Me clicking on a song does not change the fact that I listen to every playlist no repeat with shuffle.

On a side note, this CAPTHCA and autosave stuff is broken. I failed CAPTCHA (after it already said I was validated) and lost all the contents of my initial post.
