My Question or Issue

I keep getting a pop up that says "Get the best Spotify experience on Android 12...Allow Bluetooth". I don't necessarily see a reason to allow bluetooth since everything is working fine for me. The problem is, I click "maybe later" but it comes up every single time i open the app even if it was just minimized for a second. How do I disable this thing?

I went into settings on my device and it was on 'do not allow'. I toggled it to 'allow' then back to 'do not allow' and that seems to have fixed this pop up constantly appearing. The app has closed itself when I did it because my music stopped playing when I did. So I think of people followed your directions and then reset the app, it would probably fix this. Also maybe do it while not connected to any Bluetooth devices. That might be confusing the app.

You HAVE to select "Allow" if you want to use a Bluetooth device.

It doesn't appear to matter if you select "Allow" or "Don't allow". The popup continues. This is the only app I have with this problem.

Hey there @TuneMadness,

Thanks for the reply. Can you let us know how many times a day this pop-up is appearing? It would be great if you share a screenshot of how things look on your end when this happens as well.

Cheers.

I'm in total agreement that this reoccurring message needs to be removed.  I've denied permission and want to leave it that way.  I don't need the app to "control" Bluetooth.  Using it seems to work fine with no issues.

oh god make it stop. im not going to give it bluetooth access. its only going to get what crappy bluetooth device i pair! and nothing else! im so frustrated with this feature. first pushing mixes and then pushing podcasts that i dont even listen to, now pushing bluetooth. stop it for the love of all music 😞

These mods here are so useless. I swear they just ask stupid questions over and over to avoid having to actually do anything

Spotify, please fix this nonsense. I don't think bluetooth is a required permission for the app to play music. You should not say it is for "things to work properly". I don't ever use wireless headphones/accessories and I am super sure there are many users like me as well.

Either fix it or give us a way to deny the permission forever so it will stop showing the dialog. I cannot keep saying "later" every time I open the app. Other music services are keeping up with the competition quite well these days, so I am not gonna hesitate to quickly find another one, if this is not fixed soon enough.

Hey folks,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

The relevant team has mentioned that this could be expected at least once every two months, but it's not common to receive it daily. To keep investigating this, could you confirm how many times a day/week are you receiving this pop-up?

It would also be great if you could include some screenshots of the pop-up you're getting where we can see the time when it happens.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience.

We'll be on the lookout.

Oh my goodness... Are you new here? I'm honestly asking...

how about constantly? hit "maybe later," leave app, come back, there it is again. all day, every day. approximately 100000 times a week at this rate.

Seriously, what THE FVCK is going on with this bug? it's months since im struggle with this. How long will it take for you to fix it? I have this message like once per day and there's not even a option to ALLOW bluetooth, it's just inactive button.

Hi everybody,

We've received news that this should now be fixed.

Make sure your app is updated up to version 8.7.52.

Let us know if you're still seeing the pop-up after updating.

Looking forward to your replies 🙂

I'm on 8.7.78 and this still doesn't seem to be resolved. Why are you misleading us, Spotify?

My days as a customer are now being counted.

Y'all cry too much **bleep**

Still an issue as of 8.8.80. Horrible CX. Ridiculous forum where moderators can mark answers which are not actual answers.

This worked Dave thanks to much!

Even after paying for premium plan, still getting annoyed. do you just want s*it thrown in your face? If you were physically near me I would be*t the sh*t out of you Spotify. Reta*ds took money and still annoying with the app.

Three years later. How is it going?
