"Track not available"

"Track not available"

I will begin my stating that I have a premium account that has worked flawlessly for several months. However in the last month or so iv been noticing that nearly all the songs i try to play (including songs iv already added to customized playlists) prompt a message saying "track not available" or "song not available". At first i thought it could be a licensing issue but the more and more it kept happening i knew it had to be an issue with spotify. Also when I do finally get songs to play, a few seconds after i lock my screen the song will stop playing. Until i re open the app at which time the song will resume. I pay good money for this app to work flawlessly and am very close to unsubscribing if this continues. Loved the app until this started happening. Hope you guys can help.

Have you checked if the track is still available on Spotify itself?

Looks like you may need a clean install, which means deleting everything Spotify has created in your phone:

1. Uninstall the app from phone by going to 'Settings' -> 'Apps' then scroll to the Spotify app and tap on it. Once loaded press 'Uninstall'.
2. Using a file manager make sure that the below folders are deleted if they still exist:

  • /emulated/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /ext_sd/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /sdcard1/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /data/media/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music

You will lose all preferences & offline playlists in doing this.
