I suspect the limit is tied down in their agreements with the record companies. They probably can't disclose this.

Sadly, I reached the download about 3,400~ songs. I am really disappointed.

I moved to Google play music several months ago, and have over 40gb of downloaded songs, just checked I here to see if Spotify have caught up yet - looks like I was right to move.

Spotify lift the limit! 3333 songs is way too few! I pay for premium and want something back for that!

Very happy now that I've switched back to Apple Music. I can get unlimited music for the same price and no limits as to how much music I can have downloaded at any given time. Only limited by my device's memory space. Can now listen to all my songs, on all my devices, especially when I'm away from internet service. Sorry Spotify....you lost a customer of 4+ years.

Google Music or Apple is unlimited? The heck im paying Premium for a non-premium service? Why limit the saved songs in our library when we still got storage in our device! It's 2017 now & you will lose lots of users because of this...

I've been a Spotify premium user for more than 2 years, I'm moving to Google Play Music because I hate this dumb limit.

Why do you just allow 3333 downloaded songs? If Spotify does not change that i think i am going to use other service. It is ridiculous to have a limit of songs offline. Why? Aren't we paying enough? If i have the free space in my device why can't i get the amount i want? I was really pleased with Spotify until today.

What are you doing spotify? You never listen to what your customer want/need. It's like you never did anything new in 2 years. The shuffle is also so broken... stop picking your nose

If I own the music and have synched it to a Spotify playlist then it shouldn't count towards my limit. I understand Spotify playlists maxed out at 3,333 (strange number) for Spotify provided playlists but not my own music. I have 4,729 of my own tracks but only 492 tracks from Spotify playlists. Even Apple lets me comingle without maximums. Please consider. Thank you.

It gave me the error screen saying I had to many offline downloads but now I have none and it's still giving me the message. I've also deleted the app and reinstalled it. I'm on iPhone with iOS.

I simply don't understand. I've tried un-downloading almost all of my saved playlists and such but I am still getting the maximum download message as well! Seems like Spotify randomly decided to try to download most of my library or something? I've been trying to make room for downloading just a FEW new songs, but no. No matter how many tracks I try to manually either undownload or completely remove from my library any attempts are to no avail.

This is infuriating as a music lover. The download cap is one thing. But I can't find out how many songs are now downloaded or not for sure. After removing downloads from an artist and double checking it hadn't even removed the downloads it seems! What the heck is going on here?!

Just bought a new phone with 256GB memory. I was looking forward to finally being able to download all my music on my phone to reduce my data usage. Before being able to download even half my music I encounter this error. **bleep** Spotify? I've been a customer since 2010, and don't want to go to another music service, but this makes no sense. This is even more stupid than when you ruined importing local music from your computer to Spotify.

I feel like I just wasted $200 on a phone with extra memory. Please give us an answer or I'm gone.

Hi

I'm a new (premium) Spotify user. When will this ridiculous limit be removed ?

If not, I'll immediately stop my account and I'll use Apple Music...

Very good question! I’m still waiting for it.

Been on google play music in the past few months. key difference to me is user interface, new music discovery/suggestions, sorting, notification of adding duplicate songs to same play list, follow artists, concerts/show notifications, sense of community is way better w/  Spotify - But I won’t switch back to Spotify until the limit is lifted. Cause I would rather spend time to look for what I want to listen to on GPM, instead of “un-caching” music on Spotify!

After several years of using spotify, I just received this message. Likewise, I purchased a 256GB phone in order to fill it with music and alas, my preferred music service doesn't allow me to. Additionally, my downloaded tracks have all disappeared over 5 times in the last 2-3 months. What a HEADACHE. I moved to a family plan a few months ago in order to give the gift of music to my loved ones but now I may have to reconsider spotify altogether. The UI has been downright unmanageable, my downloads disappearing and now when I try to re-download, I'm hit with a song limit. Too many cons.

Does spotify even like us?

Either they work with cell phone carriers (like netflix does) to make streamed songs not count against a data limit or they make offline listening easier and broader. If these things don't change, I'm ringing in 2018 with a new music streaming service.

I fly international all the time. 13+ hour flights. I'd be nice to have my whole library. I pay for it. I have the space. Stop being stingy piece of crud for no reason. Spotify just continually gets worse. Not better.

hi spottify yes please remove the limit on the number of downloads - dosnt make sence with todays storage - partys needs more space as i dont want to rely on wifi

thanks steve

Remove limiiiiiiit

So, Dear Spotify, this was posted in 2013, you closed the topic.

Various questions have been asked on this forum that are related to these hidden limits that you don't tell any of your new paid subscribers about.  Both the absurd offline device limit of 9,999 spread across three devices and your library limits.

This limit removal needs to be implemented immediately, makes no sense.  Less songs than a 1st gen iPod.....

Seriously!

If you genuinely believe this limit enhances your product put it on the premium subscription page in big print and see how it affects sign ups.

Subscribers are not taking time out to write lengthy complaints like this one because they are overjoyed by these limits.

LISTEN, RATHER THAN PRETENDING TO.

Thank you.
