spotify wont play any songs on mobile

Solved!

spotify wont play any songs on mobile

Ås the title says, I'm having trouble playing songs on Spotify. I'm running Android 4.4.2 on HTC one x. So får I've tried to restart the phone, restart Spotify, redownload the playlists, tried going online and playing and also reinstalling Spotify.

Every time I play a Song, it immidietly pauses. Like after 0.01 seconds. I can barely hear the Song start, and then pause. Wat do?

Ok, so the solution is rebooting and not using any other program. Kinda sucks, but worth it for the music . Thanks for the help

Are you running a custom ROM at all? What version of Spotify are you using?

Don't know what a custom ROM is, I downloaded Spotify yesterday (when I reinstalled), so I assume it is the newest version

Ok. Sounds like something is interfering with the media output. What other apps do you have installed that play or control audio? An equaliser app, Rdio, TuneIn, Power Amp etc?

Wow, you are right! The second I closed snapchat, Spotify started working again O.o

Is there anyway to prevent this from happening again? It hasn't been an issue before, untill the last update

Nevermind, it only worked for ten seconds... Now, the only programs running are Internet and Spotify, and it still wont work... 😞

Can you uninstall snapchat & Spotify. Reboot phone, install Spotify and login then try playing something.

I've tried uninstalling and rebooting, and even deleting snapchat entirely. Still same issue.

Got the same issue here on Google Nexus. Just stops playing immediately.

Update: after reinstalling and rebooting it seems to work again. Very strange.

For how long? Cause for me, a reboot fixes it, but only short term. We're talking maybe minutes

Definately sounds like you have another app conflicting. If you were comfortable with it I would suggest a factory reset of your device, install Spotify and then install your other apps one by one testing to see which one is causing the conflict.

Definitly not comfortable with reseting to factory, and I'm starting to have doubts that it is another app ruining it. I mean, I definitely see why that sounds like the reason, but which app? I've tried turning off every single app that might interfere, and still no result. Same thing happens no matter what apps are in the background. After the reboot, it played for about 2 mins, almost a whole song, and then it went to pause. I checked the taskmanager to see what was running, and there were no other programs running.

I feel lost. Like life itself is starting to lose meaning.

I get that. However I would point out that you seem to be the only one with this issue, which therefore signifies that it's probably something to do with your setup.

I know a factory reset is a pain... Trust me. So if you don't want to try this then may I suggest disabling apps like snapchat and any others that plug into the media out by going into settings-apps then select the app and press disable. This then stops it running in the background and will allow you to check by a process of trial and error which app if any are causing the conflict.

I definitely think it's worth root causing to try and identify which app you have installed that could be causing the issue. I wonder if it also happens if using the stock music player as well.
