Hello,
I dont really know how to define it precisly but Id like to try to summarize at least my issue as I have seen already a few topics mentionning it more or less, but never completly.
I think there is a topic in the sugggestion part, but I havent seen any definitive convincing answer for this case.
So, like some of you I guess, I like to go to the swimming pool regularly and swim sometimes for several hours (depends on the training schedule); but those hours can sometimes feel really long, so being able to play music while swimming can be very handy to make the effort seem less boring and repetitive.
Some people can manage to shut down their train of thoughts, have clear mind and purely focus on the effort (maybe its some kind of meditative skill or just the brain working different, well mabe never know, but good for them), but some others couldnt no matter how hard they try (the train of thoughts will likely just make circles, derail and we will just end up with a headache), including me...and music is the way one of the way to supress in temporarly (wouldnt be writting this topic otherwise).
So far I have always been using some waterproof mp3 player where you have to posess the files on the computer or device and transfer them on the music player (and find them before, wich can be either expensive or tedious).
So when you want to discover new tracks and change your playlist often (even just because some of us can bear routine, listening to the same playlist every day), it can really get like a small part time job.
Spotify on the other hand is great for that (with lots of updates, novelties and music suggestions), but as the files stored locally are encrypted in a way so they can only be read by the app, you are always tied to a device like a smartphone.
And of course bluetooth signal doesnt really work great in water to say the least, especially if you are at the other side of the pool half of the time from you smartphone (wich you may also not be possible to bring with you at the pool to begin with).
So Im wondering, as technology made any progress in the way of solving this problem ?
Is there something like a bone conduction headphone for exemple, with a lighweight integrated system able to run the spotify app (maybe even connected with a 4G card) and store locally the playlists so they can be listended while swimmming but still encrypted (I know, in order to pay the artists and not have the content stolen etc...) ?
Or maybe there is a good way to transport (maybe around the arm, behind the head etc...) a small device like a miniature smartphone/player able to run the app and connect it directly in a secure waterproof way the the headphone, without interfering too much with the swimming movements.
Any idea if a feature to get around this issue is even being develloped ?
(maybe its just a too small user niche no worth spending ressources).
I have searched around a bit but only found only the same classic mp3 reader technology, only just more efficient or with more storage...
I dont know, still stuck so far on that issue; so if anyone one have some thoughts to share on that...
