Desktop: Why can't I browse my own library in full screen anymore?

Suddenly, with the latest update, my entire library (artists, albums, playlists) is stuffed into the sidebar. I don't want this! Why can we not browse it in full screen anymore? At least give users the choice. Now a big chunk of the display is wasted while I have to scroll through this endless list in the sidebar. Quite inefficient and not very clean looking either.

I totally agree, this is a really crappy update

Too bad, personally I was waiting for a feature to share folders directly or a feature to mix titles in a playlist.

Yep, the new library is the reason I finally unsubscribed. By now I can only enlarge it up to 4/5 of the left 1/3 of the screen. Instead the right 2/3 are uselessly filled with either recommendments (I don't need) or the huge tracklist of the current or last album I played. Why???? I loved to scroll through my library with all covers... but now?

This is new library is pathetic. This is the biggest one possible now:

Because whoever is doing UI design for Spotify is bad at it.

I agree with all the above comments and see Spotify is ignoring us, we could at least have the option of choosing the 'classic view' over this pointless exercise in alienating the customers. If it ain't broke, why 'fix it'?

I don't think it's only bad UX/UI. It's utter contempt for the users. They know exactly that users don't want this. Every user interview would tell them. It's because they want to control what I listen to. They want me to force to listen to their recommendations (that were pretty good but right now are worthless) and not to my carefully collected library. Luckily I can get to a full view of my library with the shortcuts Alt + Shift + 1 - 4. Otherwise it would be high time to migrate to another streaming service.
