How do I stop the desktop app from automatically updating?

Like seemingly everyone else, I hate the new UI. It's **bleep**ing awful, useless, adds nothing to my experience, and changes things in a way that has zero usefulness. I have the .exe file for Version 7 on my desktop so I can atleast use Spotify for now, before I decide to just go to Tidal or Apple, but this is ridiculous. Is there a way to turn off automatic updates entirely? I've been giving money to this company for nearly a decade, and this is totally unacceptable. I don't get it, if someone at Spotify could provide a non-corporate sponsored answer for why these changes are necessary, I would really appreciate it.
