I would love to hear some insights regarding what your experience has been with your playlists SEO and growth. A little bit of background:
I had a playlist that suddenly started gaining organic followers out of the blue and daily listeners were solid 400-500 listeners a day for over 1,5 years. Then out of the blue, that specific playlist "lost it" in one day. Growth stalled, listeners dropped. I haven't had this kind of playlist experience ever with any other playlist. Hence I'm still sort of unsure what was the main driver - was it playlist search SEO position? Was it artists Discovered On? Some links on the internet? All of these? Not sure.
But in general the "battle for the playlist SEO" seems to be an ongoing thing and there are lots of people who are doing everything they can to beat other playlists within any search term to get their list to this kind of growth.
However there seems to be very little information available regarding how the playlists are actually evaluated. What is the logic behind playlist growth? Is it about the popularity numbers of the songs on the list? Is it about how many songs are there on the list? How many different artists? So many open questions.
Would be great to hear of your experiences - have you had playlists that have grown on their own and brought lots of listeners daily? What has made those lists different from your other lists that haven't reached such popularity? Have you noticed that your growth has stopped at some point? Did you change something in your list when that happened? Did you manage to get your list grow again in future?
