Why does the new Spotify interface constantly forget what album I'm listening to when I put the app

Seriously this is so annoying, especially when I'm driving. I am constantly having to do extra clicks to get back to the album I was listening to.

Within less than a minute, if I don't have Spotify in the foreground, it brings me to the home screen (don't even get me started on how ugly and unintuitive home is now...).

This application is always one step forward and 3 steps back. The first real competitor that comes along with a semi decent GUI and artist library, I'm dropping Spotify like a bad habit. This company is the definition of software bloat and adding new features for the sake of adding them. Whatever dummy mc dip sh*ts in the product meetings pushing all this bloat and tik tok looking features should be fired and banned from the software industry permanently. 

This app was pretty much perfect when it first came out well over a decade ago. It's sad seeing you slowly kill it in the name of greed, half baked features, and failed attempts to force user engagement through the mindless scrolling design found in other apps.
