Hello everyone:
First of all, let me introduce myself:
My name is Miguel Pacheco, I am a blind person who's from Mexico and I am a new user of Spotify. I've changed from Google PlayMusic for giving a chance to this excellent streaming service. Although I am only using the premium test for 7 days, I think I'll pay in order to continue listening the music that Spotify offers.
Well, you know enough about me like I do about Spotify. Now, what's the problem? Maybe you're wondering.
Well, it's simple: when I opened Spotify for the first time, I was exploring the app as any other one which has been downloaded to any iPhone, and gladly I found that K-Pop genre was available in the list like all the other ones. Inclusion is something great! 🙂
I found a lot of music which didn't appear on PlayMusic, so I was able to discover more content.
However, when I wanted to look for a group named "A Pink" also from the same genre, I found that there were just two songs available, as if the group has been released since a little time ago and unknown in the music for the same reason. There were a lot of missing songs that actually are in PlayMusic (sorry if I've said so).
Personally this is one of my favorite bands, and it makes me sad not to find it there.
Does anyone know the reason for the absence of A Pink in Spotify music library as well as at the K-Pop lists?
Thank you very much!
Kind regards.
Hello @HummingBirdGuy
Welcome to the Spotify Community! Glad to hear you are enjoying Spotify.
In summary, the availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.
If you look at this thread by Spotify staff here you can see they have given the reason why some music is not available:
https://community.spotify.com/t5/Content-Questions/I-want-an-artist-song-on-Spotify/td-p/1136005
I will copy and paste what is posted below:
"Many folks in the Community have requested certain tracks, albums or artists be added to Spotify. The reality is that we would like to have all the world's music available on Spotify.
Therefore, anything which we have the right to upload and has been provided to us, should be available on Spotify. We are signing new labels and working hard to add music every week. Hopefully your favourite music will be up soon.
If you still can't find the music you're looking for, try contacting the artist or record label and ask why the music isn't on Spotify.
You can also open this form and provide us with feedback. When doing so, do please keep in mind that this is an internal list we will use at regular intervals, to see how much interest there is for any given band. Submitting a name in that form or this thread doesn't mean they will magically be showing up soon.
If you'd like to discuss the artists you'd like to see with other Spotify users you can do so in this board.
Thanks and welcome to The Green Room!"
You're welcome!
If you can't contact the artist, then yes you can use this form and Spotify will read it:
