Hey @HellishAbyss,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

This issue should be fixed in Spotify version 1.1.76 for the Desktop app.

You can check your Spotify version like described here. If you're running a past version, try updating your app.

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the response. This was happening in 1.1.76. If the artist doesn't have a background picture, the album art does not shrink, and remains large – and blurry.

Hi @HellishAbyss,

Thanks for keeping us posted on this.

Spotify is set up to use the artist banner image in the background when set to full screen, as well as the album cover in a smaller resolution. In case an artist banner isn't available, the album cover will be stretched to a slightly higher resolution for compatibility reasons. This may cause the artwork to appear slightly distorted or blurred at times.

As of right now, there aren't any immediate plans to change this, but it's possible in the future, so rest assured we'll share any new information on the matter once we have it.

Take care.
