Bon Iver unable to play

Solved!

Bon Iver unable to play

Hello fellow community,

I'm from Singapore, and whenever i search for "Bon Iver" the artist, they only show me 2 songs which are "fall creek boys choir" and "down in the willow garden" and I can't find songs from their albums such as "For Emma, Forever Ago" as all the songs in the album are greyed out and are unable to play.

So it would be of tremendous help if someone could provide a solution to my problem.

Hello:

Well there are three different versions available on the Spotify service for different listening regions.

Have you tried playing the release from the webplayer? https://player.spotify.com/ How does the release play from there?

Which device and Spotify app version do you currently have that this is happening with?

You might try a quick log out and back in and then see if the release will play? If that does not work try a log out, and a system or device reboot and then log back into the Spotify app does the release play? The last option is to try a clean reinstall of the Spotify app, you might have a corrupt cache issue which happens from time to time? A link to the Spotify reinstall FAQ

If those options do not work post back, and I will escalate this thread, and see what else we can find to try and fix this issue?

Thanks for the reply JayLB and for the suggestions.

I opened the webplayer and there the songs do play. Also I re-installed the programme on two different PC's. On the one the songs now do play, on the other they still don't. That sounds like a cache problem indeed. But I don't know now how to resolve it if a re-install doesn't help. Do you have any other suggestions?

Hey @ernest1422

The reason is that the artist or their music label has likely decided to disable playback on the songs/ablums you can't find.

The availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.

Spotify wants all the world's music, and they're working hard on making this happen for you. However sometimes agreements can't be reached with the artist or label or a change may happen in music ownership. Sometimes the music is only available in certain countries, while access is blocked to others. Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.

Spotify adds thousands of albums and artists are added every day. If you can't find an artist you're looking for, they may appear (or reappear if removed) soon. In the meantime, feel free to contact the artist or their label to ask when they plan to be on Spotify.

Bon Iver's self-titled second album won't play anymore. It is visible and not "grey", but when I press play with any of the songs, it skips to the next. Is this a rights issue (then why is the album visible and clickable?) or a technical problem? (From The Netherlands)

Ah! The problem now resolved. First re-install was without first uninstalling the program. Tried again with uninstall - reinstall and now it works again. Thanks!
