Can’t find Led Zeppelin’s album “Presence” on Spotify Pakistan. Please fix.

Can’t find Led Zeppelin’s album “Presence” on Spotify Pakistan. Please fix.

Spotify Pakistan is lacking an album from one of the greatest bands of all time, this is a tragedy. We also don’t have podcasts, what’s that about?

Hey! Sorry for the delayed response, I hope the explanation below helps:

Spotify has over 40 million songs and podcasts in its collection and over 3 billion playlists. Even so, those who use the streaming service in the desktop and browser versions can sometimes come across tracks that are grayed out and cannot be played.

This unavailability, however, is not entirely the platform's fault. The issue of music availability is linked to the copyright holders of the works, whether the record companies or the artists themselves. It's up to the owners to decide when and which tracks will be available on Spotify and even other streaming services.

When a song that was available in the catalog suddenly comes out, it means that the contract between the parties has ended or the ownership has changed hands. It is Spotify's role to try to renegotiate with the holders to get the reproduction right again. If no agreement is reached, the songs are grayed out, not clickable.
What can also happen is having certain tracks only available in certain countries. This is because the contract is territorial. An example is the soundtrack “Almost Alice”, from the movie “Alice in Wonderland”. Released by Buena Vista Records, the entire album can be heard in the United States. In Brazil, however, it is only possible to play songs that were released as singles by the artists who are part of the collection.
Those who are users of the premium version of Spotify have the right, yes, to press the release of the songs. But it is necessary to do it correctly. The idea is not only to charge Spotify, but also directly to the copyright holders of the works, whether via social networks, official website or other means of communication.
