+1 on this - my account was recently hacked, and the recently played is full of songs the hacker listened to while controlling my account. How do I delete those now? Why was this functionality removed?

If your account has been hacked we'd recommend reaching out to our support team here and explaining the situation.
After verification they should be able to revert your library to a state before the hack occurred.
